weatherFormer weather presenter Tina Carline is to return to New Zealand from her home on Australia’s Gold Coast in order to run for Parliament in the next election.

Ms Carline has been selected as the National candidate in an as yet un-named electorate, a National Party spokesperson confirmed to WWNews tonight.  “We are unable to reveal which electorate,” the spokesperson, who refused to be named (citing an allergy to font water), said.  “But it’ll be a safe seat.  Mind you, under the John Key-led Government they’ll all safe at the moment!”

Ms Carline, who was unable to be contacted before this issue of WWNews went to press because the top-up code seems to be wrong, presented the weather on TV One for many years.  Her selection leaves the Greens, United Future and Act as the only parliamentary parties without a former weather presenter on their ticket, although NZ First is still having a bob each way.
